Heute sollte das Wetter für Sydney nicht besser werden. Davon wollten wir uns aber nicht abschrecken lassen. Da wir in unserem Hotelzimmer kein Fenster haben :/ haben wir uns vom Wetter überraschen lassen. Als wir um 10 Uhr raus gegangen sind war es bewölkt und es regnete leicht.

Am Treffpunkt für die Free Tour hatten wir noch etwas Zeit und haben uns daher noch etwas die St. Andrew’s Cathedral angeschaut und siehe da, die Kirche geht doch mit der Zeit….

Danach fing auch die Tour an. Diese ging durch das Stadtzentrum, vorbei an der Einkaufsstraße Sydneys, zum Hafen und durch die Rocks. Dabei gab es viele Informationen zur Geschichte und auch zu aktuellen Geschehnissen und Vorschläge für Bars/Restaurants.

Die Tour endete nach ca 10.000 Schritten an einem schönen Aussichtspunkt für Sydneys bekannteste Gebäude.

Morgen geht es dann weiter Richtung Norden. Die nächste große Stadt ist dann in 2-3 Tagen Brisbane. Da das schlechte Wetter uns von Melbourne zu verfolgen scheint, müssen wir mal schauen wie wir damit umgehen.

Sydney for the second time

Today the weather for Sydney wasn’t supposed to be better, but that wasn’t going to stop us. Since we don’t have a window in our hotel room :/ we’ve let the weather surprise us. As we left our hotel around 10am it was cloudy with a little rain.

At the meeting point for the free Tour we still had some time to spare so we went into St Andrew’s Cathedral. Inside we saw the church going along with the times….

Afterwards our short visit the Tour started. We went through the city center, passed the main shopping street, down to the harbour and into “The Rocks”. We got a lot of information regarding the History, current events and recommendations for bars/restaurants.

The tour ended after 10.000 steps at a very nice look out for Sydney’s most famous buildings.

Tomorrow we head further north. The next big city is Brisbane in 2 or 3 days. Since the bad weather is following us from Melbourne we’ll see how we deal with it.
