Heute ging es weiter nach Nordosten. Das Tagesziel war Moab in Utah. Morgens ging es für einen Teil in den Antelope Canyon.

Danach habe wir aus unserem Hotel ausgecheckt und uns auf den Weg gemacht. Als ersten Zwischenstop haben wir uns den Horseshoe Bend angeschaut.

Nach unserem “einsamen” und kostenlosen Besuch in 2014 ist der Aussichtspunkt nun fast überlaufen und hat einen bebauten Parkplatz mit Gebühren. Nun ging es aber wirklich Richtung Moab. Der Weg führte durch eine großteils unbewohnte Felslandschaft.

Nach ein paar Stunden fahren haben wir das Monument Valley erreicht.

Von dort waren es “nur” noch zwei Stunden Fahrt bis zu unserem Hotel. Morgen geht es in den Arches National Park.

To Moab via Monument Valley

Today we headed further Northeast. The goal of the day was Moab in Utah. In the Morning a part of the group headed into Antelope Canyon.

Afterwards we checked out of our hotel and headed out onto the road. The first stop along the way was the Horseshoe Bend.

After our “lonley” and free visit in 2014 we were surprised by the amount of tourists. The parking lot is now paved and a lot bigger with a fee. Now we really headed towards Moab. The route went through mostly uninhabited rocky landscape.

A few hours driving later we reached Monument Valley.

From there we “only” had to drive for another two hours to reach our hotel. Tomorrow we’ll head into Arches National Park.
