Heute ging es weiter in Richtung Sydney. Da der Weg etwas weiter ist, werden wir nicht direkt durch fahren. Für das erste Stück haben wir uns für nur einen Zwischenstopp entschieden. Dem “90 Mile Beach” oder für die deutschen “150 km Strand”, dieser hat ungefähr genau diese Länge.
Trotzdem gibt es kaum Hotels oder Motels entlang der Küstenstraße. Neben ein paar Caravanparks und dem ein oder anderen kleinen Dörfchen gibt es einfach nichts. Entlang der Straße konnte man umso mehr Natur genießen und auch einige farbenfrohen Papageien.
Danach sind wir ein großes Stück des Princes Highways, der A1 die auch die Big Lap (Umrundung des australischen Kontinents) darstellt. Diese führt zum Teil durch eine hügelige Landschaft mit vielen Weiden, dass man meinen könnte, man ist in Schottland, die Straßenseite passt ja schon. Dann geht es wieder in die Berge auf 300Meter hoch mit so vielen Bäumen, dass man den Ozean nicht sehen kann. Kurz darauf ist man in einem Dorf direkt am Meer.
Beeindruckend ist wie schnell und wie eindeutig hier Nacht wird. Um 6 Uhr waren wir noch im Auto unterwegs, als das Licht ausgeschaltet wurde. Wie dunkel es geworden ist, können wir auf einem Foto gar nicht zeigen, da es keine Unterschied zu einem Foto mit einem Finger auf dem Objektiv gibt.
First Step to Sydney
Today we headed in the direction of Sydney. Since the the distance is quite a bit so we’ll don’t do it in one go. For the first part we only chose one stop along the way. The “90 Mile Beach” which is approximately as long as the name suggests.
Despite the beauty there are no Hotels or Motels along the coast. Next to a few caravan parks and a small village here and there, there is only nature. We saw a lot of colorful parrots.
Afterwards we drove along the Princes Highway, the A1 which is also the Big Lap (Circumnavigation of the Australian Continent). It goes through a hilly landscape with a lot of pastures, that one could think you were in Scotland, the driving side is already correct. Then it goes into the mountains up to 300 meters with such dense forests that you can’t see the ocean. Shortly after it takes you to a small village directly at the coast.

It is incredible how fast and overwhelmingly dark it gets. At 6 pm we were still in the car, when some turned off the light. We can’t show how dark it got, since a picture looks the same as if we just covered the lens.
