Heute ging es weiter in Richtung Westen. Das Ziel waren die Black Mountains im Westen von South Dakota.

Als “ersten” Stop haben wir uns den Badlands National Park ausgesucht. Dieser lag entlang der Route und war in unserem “America the Beautiful” Pass enthalten.

Danach ging es in die Tiefen der Black Mountains,

dort versteckt sich ein sehr bekanntes Monument der amerikanischen Geschichte.

Leider kann man die Köpfe von George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln, besser bekannt unter dem Formationsname, Mount Rushmore, nicht erkennen. 🙁

Morgen früh versuchen wir es nochmal.

Badlands and Fog

Today we went further West. The Goal was the Black Mountains in western South Dakota.

For the “first” Stop we decided on the Badlands National Park. It was along the route and was included in our “America the Beautiful” Pass.

Afterwards we headed into the depth of the Black Mountains,

hidden there is a famous Monument of American History.

Sadly the heads of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln, better known under their formation name Mount Rushmore, were not visible. 🙁

Tomorrow morning we’ll try it again.
